HirShabelle state minister dies of COVID-19 in Mogadishu

HirShabelle state minister for Justice Khalif Mumin has passed on after contracting the deadly COVID-19 becoming the second person to die of the disease in Somalia.

Sources at De-Martini Hospital in Mogadishu intimated to Goobjoog News the minister succumbed to the disease Sunday. He was admitted at the facility this past week after being transferred from Jowhar where he had been ailing.

The minister becomes the second patient to die of the disease in Somalia after a 58-year-old man died Wednesday. The number of COVID-19 cases in Somalia stand at 25.
