Houthi Threats Against Saudi Airports Raise Regional Tensions

Storyline:World

GOOBJOOG NEWS|YEMEN: The escalating tensions between Yemen’s Houthi movement and Saudi Arabia have intensified after the Houthis threatened to target Saudi airports and other critical infrastructure.

Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree said the group’s forces had confronted what he described as an attempt by Saudi warplanes to prevent an Iranian passenger aircraft from landing at Sana’a International Airport.

According to the Houthis, the aircraft was carrying more than 200 people, including patients, wounded civilians, and Yemeni passengers who had been stranded outside the country.

The group warned Saudi Arabia against repeating such actions, saying that any future violation of Yemen’s airspace or attacks on the country would be met with strikes targeting Saudi airports and key strategic facilities on land and at sea.

In response, the Saudi-led coalition issued a stern warning, stating that any attack on the Kingdom would be met with a powerful and unprecedented military response.

The coalition also accused the Houthis of undermining Yemen’s sovereignty and attempting to further inflame the conflict.

The latest exchange of threats comes amid growing instability across the Middle East, raising concerns that any renewed confrontation could further undermine regional security and disrupt air travel.
