I was duly accepted as Somali ambassador to the UK-Amb. Aynte
Immediate former Somali ambassador to the UK Abdirahman Aynte has dismissed reports he had not be duly accepted to serve as the country’s diplomat to the UK rendering his resignation inconsequential.
A note verbale from Her Majesty Government received by Goobjoog News from the envoy confirms Somalia’s request was accepted by Her Majesty Government July 24 this year. Villa Somalia announced the appointment of ambassador Aynte alongside ambassadors to the UN and Turkey in June.
“HMG Somalia Unit at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office presents its compliments to Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and has the honour to refer to the Ministry’s Note Verbale Ref: MFA/FRS/DP3382/2017 of 29 June 2017 requesting agreement for the appointment of Mr Abdirahman Yusuf Ali Aynte as the Ambassador of Somalia at the Court of St. James’s,” the note dated July 24, 2017 from Her Majesty Government reads.
“Her Majesty Somalia Unit has further honour to inform the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation that the agreement has been granted.”
Aynte told Goobjoog News he left his post owing to lack of support from the Federal Government.
