IGAD ministerial meeting concludes, communiqué issued

The 53rd IGAD ministerial meeting held in Mogadishu concluded on Saturday 10th January 2015.
Somali president Hassan Sheikh Mohamud officially opened the summit while the newly appointed premier Omar Omar Abdirashid Ali Sharma’arke presided over the closing session.
The special representative of AU, IGAD envoy to Somalia, UN envoy for Somalia and IGAD international partners forum also attended the meeting.
The president of the republic of Somalia Hassan Sheikh Mohamud welcomed the IGAD extra-ordinary session of IGAD council of ministers noting this is the first council meeting held in Mogadishu since the collapse of the Central government led by late Mohamed Siad Barre 1991.
