IJA Says it’s ready to Secure Border with Kenya
The Interim Administration of Jubbaland has told Goobjoog that they are plans on foot to secure the long border line with Kenya after Garissa students’ massacre.
The main security commander of IJA Hassan Qeyd said that his forces together with AMISOM troops will be deployed along border to secure it from Alshabab raiders who cross from Somalia to commit acts of mass killings in Kenya.
“The border line is very long but we would secure with the help of AMISOM, we anticipate that there will no more people would be able to cross into or escape from Kenya when they commit crimes” said the commander.
He also supported the idea of walling the border as proposed by Kenya.
IJA is a very crucial partner of Kenya to address security challenges along its border.
