Information minister launches training for journalist from member states
GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Information, Culture and Tourism minister Daud Aweis Jama has opened a training program for 30 journalists from the Federal Government and Member States in Mogadishu.
The minister said the training program should be held regularly so that the country can mentor journalists who can effectively report issues affecting the Somali people.
“We need to prepare our journalists for all kind of assignments around the world to match other major media organizations,” he said.
The Director General of the Ministry of Information, Abdullahi Hayir Duale who spoke at the opening of the training said that this is the second time the Ministry holds such a training which is intended for the journalists who are in frontline areas where the government is fighting the Al-Shabaab terrorists.
“The training focuses on production, filming, editing, creating effective programs, and how to steer off fake news,” DG Abdullahi stated.
