GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: The Minister of Interior, Federal and Reconciliation of the Government of Somalia, Ahmed Macallin Fiqi, has axed the General Manager of the Agency for Registration and Identification of the Somali People, Mukhtar Hussein Mohamed (Qoransey).

A decree issued by the Interior Minister also stated that Qoransey’s duties would be managed temporarily by his deputy, with the help of the Director of Departments and other employees of the Agency.

Mukhtar Qoransey’s sacking came after he was accused of being a “challenge in the execution and implementation of the Registration and Public Identification task, which is one of the activities that hinder XFS”.

Qoransey is also accused of noncooperation, opaqueness, and working outside the scope of the agency’s mandate.
