International flights resume in Somalia
Storyline:National News
International flights landing and taking off from Aden Adde Airport and other aviation facilities in the country resume business today about five months after the Federal Government closed its airspace over COVID19 outbreak.
The Immigration Department announced Sunday the resumption of the flights from today but warned stringent health measures must be adhered to.
The department instructed travelers to acquire COVID19 clearance certificates within 72 hours before travel. Somalia suspended local and international flights in mid March following a spike in the COVID19 cases.
The Ministry of Health announced eight more COVID19 cases Sunday bringing to 3,220 the number of people infected by the disease so far. The official death toll stands at 93 while 1,598 have since recovered.
Passengers traveling to Kenya will however have to make do with a further delay as Nairobi has not included Somalia among the countries which can fly in following its resumption of international flights August 1.
