Jalalaqsi: Worries of flooding grow as rains continue

The administration of Jalaqlaqsi district in Hiran region is expressing fear that River Shabelle might burst its banks as rain continue in the district and nearby areas.
Jalaqlaqsi district commissioner Mohamed Abdulle Fiidow said the volume of River water was increasing the last few days adding that might flood any time.
He commissioner stated that the floods will affect the whole district and significant areas of farmland.
Mr. Fiidow reiterated that the administration getting hand from the residents are mending and blocking the possible areas where the river might burst.
It is usual for the Shabelle River to burst its banks in the rains, during flood the water wash away large hectres of land planted with crops and displace families.
