Jamhuriya University Strengthens Strategic Partnerships with Leading Indian Tech and Educational Institutions

GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: In a landmark official visit to India, the senior leadership of Jamhuriya University of Science and Technology (JUST) has made significant strides in forging collaborations with top Indian institutions specialising in technology, education, and innovation. This visit is poised to accelerate knowledge exchange and capacity building for Somali youth, particularly in emerging tech fields.

Strategic Partnership Agreement with Lovely Professional University (LPU)

We are proud to announce that Jamhuriya University of Science and Technology (JUST) has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Lovely Professional University (LPU), Punjab, India.

This Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) establishes a framework for collaboration in higher education, joint research, faculty and student exchange, and the delivery of advanced academic programs.

JUST was represented by President Mohamed Ahmed Mohamud, Vice President for Academic Affairs Abdirizak Warsame Abdulle, and Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science Mohamed Abdullahi Ali. Lovely Professional University was represented by its Vice Chancellor, Dr. Jaspal Singh Sandhu, Vice President, Dr. Aman Mittal, and the Office of International Affairs.

During the visit, the JUST delegation had the honor of attending the LPU International Graduation Ceremony, where JUST President Mohamed Ahmed Mohamud delivered a keynote address to the graduating international students.

The partnership with LPU marks an exciting new chapter in expanding academic and research excellence between the two institutions.

 

 

Memorandum of Understanding with Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC)

A delegation led by the President of Jamhuriya University of Science and Technology, Mohamed Ahmed Mohamud, along with the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Abdirizak Warsame Abdulle, and the Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science, Mohamed Abdullahi Ali, was warmly welcomed to Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC), India.

During the visit, Jamhuriya University signed a memorandum of understanding with CGC focusing on fostering academic collaboration, joint research, student and faculty exchange, innovation, and institutional development.

The signing ceremony was attended by senior representatives from both universities. CGC was represented by Prof. Dr. Anish Gupta, Director of Education, and Mr. Asimjot Singh Chahal, Head of the International Relations Office.

The delegation also held productive meetings with senior CGC leadership, faculty deans, and heads of various centres to lay the groundwork for effective implementation of the MoU and future cooperation.

 

High-Level Meeting with Sharda University Leadership

The highlight of the visit was the high-level meeting between JUST’s senior leadership—President E Mohamed Ahmed Mohamud, Vice President for Academic Affairs Abdirizak Warsame Abdulle, and Dean of Computer Science Mohamed Abdullahi Ali—and the leadership of Sharda University, including President Prof. (Dr.) Sibaram Khara and Dr. Ashok Daryani, Head of International Relations.

The discussions centred on establishing a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote long-term academic cooperation. Key areas of collaboration include joint research projects, student and faculty exchanges, and innovation-focused initiatives.

The delegation was also given a tour of Sharda University’s advanced research centers, innovation hubs, and specialised facilities in Artificial Intelligence, highlighting the university’s commitment to cutting-edge education.

Partnership Talks with EduTechIndia

At EduTechIndia, a leading educational technology company headquartered in Bangalore, the JUST team held productive discussions with Mr. Sajeev K.R., Director of EduTechIndia, and his expert team.

The focus was on establishing state-of-the-art laboratories at JUST, including Artificial Intelligence Labs, Robotics Labs, and STEM Labs. These facilities are expected to revolutionize higher education at Jamhuriya University by introducing modern learning tools and practical training environments.

The delegation also toured various departments within EduTechIndia, witnessing firsthand the innovative educational technologies and digital solutions designed to empower institutions worldwide.

 

Visit to the Centre of Excellence – IoT & AI

The JUST delegation was warmly welcomed at the prestigious Center of Excellence – IoT & AI, a renowned hub that nurtures tech-based business ideas and innovation among young entrepreneurs in India.

During the visit, the University leadership met with the Center Director to explore collaboration opportunities between the Jamhuriya Innovation Center (JIC) and the IoT & AI Center. Discussions focused on joint training programs designed to equip Somali youth with cutting-edge skills in Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI), fostering an environment where entrepreneurial ideas can flourish.

The delegation toured the Center’s incubation labs, gaining insight into how innovative startups have been successfully launched and supported, many of which have gained national recognition across India

A New Chapter for Somali Higher Education and Innovation

These landmark engagements underline Jamhuriya University’s commitment to enhancing educational quality and technological innovation through global partnerships. The collaborations aim to empower Somali youth with skills and opportunities aligned with the demands of a rapidly evolving global tech landscape.
