Joint forces seize Gol-Weyn locality in the Lower Shabelle

Government and AMISOM have captured Gol-weyn locality in the Lower Shabelle region .

On a statement posed on AMISOM’s twitter page the joint forces faced little resistance during the takeover. According to the security forces Gol -weyn has been a strategic base,  where Al-shabab used to launch attacks on African peace-keeping  and government forces in region.

The forces have carried  out massive security crackdown in Gol-Weyn to keep the overall security of the locality.

Al-shabab declined to give comments about the ongoing offensive .
