Journalist Abdifatah Kalgal awarded for outstanding work

Goobjoog’s blind journalist Abdifatah Hassan Ahmed Kalgacal has been awarded for his outstanding work in the media and beating against all odds.

A ceremony organized by East Africa Disability Agency EADA held at the SYL hotel in Mogadishu was attended by high ranking government officials including the Deputy Prime Minister and Two key ministers.

The Deputy Prime Minister Mohamed Omar Arte has handed the award to the journalist who won other accolades for covering issues of people with disabilities.

Kalgal is a presenter and producer for Goobjoog’s weekly Disability radio program, which is the only such program in the Somali media.
