Jowhar Administration call for cease fire in remote areas

The administration of Bay region has made a peace appeal to fighting clans in areas around town.

Jowhar district commissioner,  Abdikadir Buurfule called out for immediate cease-fire and reconciliation among the warring clans, he urged to seek peaceful settlement for both clans who cohabit together in the area.

“It is regrettable to see the occurrence of conflict in these areas, and I call out to both warring sides to immediate unconditional cease-fire, and remind them that conflict and unnecessary loss of lives will not resolve anything other than escalate animosity,” said Burfule.

He said the people in those areas should unite and ensure that their reconciliation meetings become fruitful for the benefit of their areas and the whole region.

This comes few days after heavy fighting erupted between two clan militias in the area resulting in displacement of hundreds of people.
