JSP Bets on Experience, Endorses Former Mayor Hussein for Banadir Leadership

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: The Justice and Solidarity Party (JSP) has endorsed Dr. Hassan Mohamed Hussein, popularly known as Muungaab, as its official candidate for the position of Governor of Banadir Region and Mayor of Mogadishu, ahead of the upcoming regional council elections.

The announcement was made during a major mobilization rally in Mogadishu that brought together senior government officials, party leaders, and supporters.

The event, described as one of the largest political gatherings in recent months, reflected growing enthusiasm for the JSP’s campaign and its push to strengthen local governance and public service delivery in the capital.

Deputy Secretary General of the party, Dr. Hussein Sheikh Mohamud, said Dr. Hussein’s nomination represents the JSP’s commitment to “effective leadership, transparency, and unity in city administration.”

Among the attendees were cabinet ministers, members of parliament, district governors, and the Governor of Banadir Region, underscoring the party’s widening political influence and its strategic focus on Mogadishu’s future development.

Dr. Hussein, a former Mayor of Mogadishu, is expected to anchor his campaign on inclusive governance, infrastructure improvement, and social services reform.
