Juba reconciliation committee held preliminary meeting with clan elders
As the second phase of Juba reconciliation conference is due to open in Kismayo, Juba reconciliation committee is taking separate meetings with the clan leaders of Juba and Gedo regions.
The preliminary meeting is meant to persuade the clan elders to play a vital role in the upcoming reconciliation conference in the region.
The vice chairman of the reconciliation committee Abdi Baaley told Goobjoog FM that the representatives of Gedo and Juba regions realized the importance of the reconciliation conference that is expected to open in Kismayo, the headquarters of Lower Juba region and agreed to attend the talks.
The vice chairman denied that IGAD officials observed the meeting of the committee with the elders.
The second phase of Juba reconciliation conference will open on 21st September in Kismayo.
