Jubaland picks last two seats in Kismayo

GOOBJOOG NEWS|KISMAYO: The last two MPs in Kismayo were elected today concluding the process in the coastal city as the exercise now heads up north to Gedo region.

Mohamed Hassan Aden and Roodo Arab Ali were elected MPs adding to 27 the number of MPs who have been elected in Jubaland.

Jubaland now remains with 16 seats to be filled in Gerbaharey, Gedo region. However, long-running tussles between Jubaland leader Ahmed Madobe and outgoing President Mohamed Farmaajo have cast uncertainty over the elections there.

HirShabelle is also expected to elect the last two MPs in Beletweyne leaving ten more seats to be filled in Jowhar.
