Jubaland’s Madobe picks representative to Kenya
GOOOBJOOG NEWS|KISMAYO: Jubaland President Ahmed Madobe has announced the appointment of a representative to advance the state interests in Kenya.
A decree from the state president noted that President Madobe had picked Sadik Abdullahi Bogale to be Jubaland’s representative to Kenya.
The statemen noted that the appointment was informed by article 72 of the state constitution which empowered the president to appoint members of the executive.
However, the role of a foreign representative at state level is not provided for in the Provisional Constitution. The Provisional Constitution exclusively allocates the powers of foreign relations to the Federal Government.
Federal Member States have however adopted the practice of development of bilateral relations with foreign countries albeit on a limited scope.
