Jubbaland Frees Senator Gaboose Following Dialogue

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: The Jubbaland regional administration has released Senator Ilyaas Beddel Gaboose following political talks aimed at easing recent tensions, Jubbaland President Ahmed Mohamed Islam said.

In a statement posted on social media, Ahmed Mohamed Islam, widely known as Ahmed Madoobe, said the decision followed an agreement that prioritised public interest, peace and unity in the region.

The Jubbaland president said his administration was ready to make concessions to promote unity and resolve political differences through dialogue.

The move comes amid broader political tensions between Somalia’s federal government and some regional administrations, as leaders seek to stabilise governance and manage disputes ahead of key political processes.
