Justice Minister Says Turkey Partnership Key to Security and Stability

GOOBJOOG NEWS | ANKARA: Justice and Constitutional Affairs minister Hassan Sheikh Ali has said that Somalia’s partnership with Turkey has played a critical role in strengthening the country’s security and institutional resilience.

Speaking at the Turkey–Africa Strategic Dialogue in Ankara, the minister said relations between the two countries had evolved into a strategic partnership based on trust, mutual respect and shared interests.

He highlighted Turkey’s support to Somalia in areas including counter-terrorism, maritime security and the fight against transnational crime, saying the cooperation had directly contributed to improving stability and the rule of law.

The minister said Somalia viewed its ties with Turkey as a model of effective partnership, helping the country rebuild state institutions and address regional security challenges with broader implications for the Horn of Africa.
