Kahda Administration Clears Road Blocks
The administration of Kahda district in Mogadishu said that they successfully cleared road blocks in the districts mounted by armed militias.
District commissioner Abdikamil Moalim Shukri told Goobjoog that it’s one the great achievements by his administration since they took office a year ago.
But the commissioner said the lives of the IDPs and the poor has not improved significantly due to lack of public services and welfare.
He pointed out water shortages as one of the main problems facing the residents there.
The district was in the news recently after hundreds of IDPs were evicted from their make shift homes on a piece of land, which authorities said belongs to the Somali Custodial Corps.
This has worsened the already dire situations of the IDPs.
