Kahda Administration Resettles Somali Families From Yemen
The administration of Kahda has temporarily resettled number of families who returned from Yemen which became home for ferocious fighting between the internationally recognized government and the Houthis, who have taken control of large swaths of Yemen.
Abdikamil Moalim Shikri, Kahda district commissioner, who gave exclusive interview to Goobjoog News said that the administration has provided resettlement to over 400 returnee families in Kahda district.
He added that the resettlement became successful after Kahda residents carried out efforts to help these families.
On 25th May this year, the administration of Benadir region has temporarily resettled 45 families who returned from Yemen.
Benadir Deputy Governor for political affairs has noted that they have prepared tempoirary shelters in Abdi-Aziz district for the returnees.
These families who returned home by themselves have been living under life-threatening situation.
At least 120 somalis has been killed since Yemen fighting latest being on 6th June when astray katyusha fired by Houthi Rebels killed six Somalis outside their outside bomb shelter.
On 27th April this year, 40 of Somali refugees died after Warplanes of the Saudi-led military coalition bombed on two buses carrying Somali refugees in Yemen, in what appeared to be the single deadliest attack on Somali refugees since a Saudi ¬Arabia-led coalition sent warplanes to target Shiite insurgents advancing across the country.
Witness says the dead included women and children who were laying out on a blood-streaked floor.
Mahad Mohamed, one of Somali consulate workers in Yemen has also confirmed the attack on the buses carrying the refugees.
