Kenya Convicts Two Over 2019 Nairobi Hotel Terror Attack

GOOBJOOG NEWS | NAIROBI: A Kenyan court has convicted two men in connection with the 2019 Al-Shabaab attack on Nairobi’s Dusit D2 hotel complex that killed 21 people.
Hussein Mohamed Abdille Ali and Mohamed Abdi Ali were found guilty on multiple terrorism-related charges, including financing and facilitating the assault.
One was found to have sent over Ksh.836,900 (approx. $6,300) to one of the attackers before the incident.
The court, which heard testimony from 45 witnesses, scheduled sentencing for June 19. Prosecutors are seeking maximum penalties.
The Somalia-based Al Shabaab militant group claimed responsibility for the deadly siege, one of Kenya’s worst terror attacks since the 2013 Westgate mall assault.
