Kenya Lifts Ban on Bus Service to Somali Region
Kenya has effective lifted the ban on a bus services operating between Nairobi and Kenya’s Somali region to North Eastern.
These transport companies was a part of 86 individuals and entities whose their bank accounts closed by Kenya government after April 2nd terror attack on Garissa University which left 150 students dead.
This comes just days after government of Kenya also an banned remittance companies on humanitarian grounds.
One bus operator has told the media that their bank accounts are not yet cleared , but they are happy the fact that the government allowed them to operate.
He also commended the government for listing curfew in the Somali region, this would allow the buss companies to operate during the night as many people would opt to travel in the night during the fasting month.
Kenya has suspected the companies of financially aiding Alshabab militants who claimed responsibility of the of Garissa Attack.
