Kenya: Mandera east MP “we discussed federal gov’t of Somalia over border towns security”
Mandera east member of Kenya national assembly Mr.Omar Maolim told the media that they took two-days talks with the federal government of Somalia for border towns’ security meeting on the trip to Mogadishu.
Eleven Members of Parliament from North Eastern Kenya were held and questioned by police on Sunday over their secret mission to Somalia at the Wilson airport in the capital Nairobi.
The MPs questioned by the police identified as Ahmed Kolosh (Wajir West), Ibrahim Abdi (Laffey), Rashid Kassim (Wajir East), Mohamed Hire (Lagdera), Omar Maalim (Mandera East), Bashir Abdullahi (Mandera North), Adan Haji (Mandera West) and Kullow Maalim (Banisa), Adan Ali sheikh (Mandera South), Mohamed Dahir (Dadaab) and Ahmed Bashane (Tarbaj).
It was last week when northeastern leaders met Kenya president over northeastern province terror attacks. Uhuru Kenyatta recommended northeastern leaders to secured and solve Al-Shabab attacks on non-locals working in the region.
