Kenya Police Arrest Somali National at JKIA Over Fraud
GOOBJOOG NEWS|NAIROBI: Police in Nairobi have arrested a 37-year-old dual Somali and Australian citizen at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in connection with a fraud case linked to an immigration alert issued in January.
In a statement this afternoon, the Kenya Police Service said the suspect, identified as Ige Nasa, was intercepted at Terminal 1A upon arrival from Australia via Johannesburg aboard a Kenya Airways flight.
According to police, the arrest followed an active immigration control alert issued on January 30, 2026, in connection with a case of obtaining money by false pretences. The alert enabled immigration officials to flag the suspect immediately after landing.
After being processed at the airport police station, Nasa was handed over to officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations for further investigations.Authorities have not disclosed additional details about the alleged fraud scheme or the amount of money involved.
