Kenya: President Hassan attends AU meeting on terrorism in Nairobi
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and delegates are attending African Union Peace and Security Council meeting on terrorism hosted by Kenyan government in Nairobi.
The summit is expected to last one day. Leaders from several African countries are expected to agree on tangible steps aimed at promoting the ongoing efforts to address the threat of terrorism in the African continent.
Somalia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Investment, Abdirahman Duale Beyle is among the Somali delegation participating in the African Union Peace and Security Council Summit.
The summit comes few days after Somali national army (SNA) and African Union troops in Somalia launched heavy military offensive on all the areas controlled by Al- Shabab.
The joint forces have captured many areas in Southern Somalia and are heading to take over Barawe town, Al-shabab stronghold in Lower Shabelle region.
