Kenyan MPs to discuss KDF removal from Somalia
A member of the Kenyan national assembly from the ruling jubilee coalition wants Kenya Defense Forces to be withdrawn from Somalia.
Benjamin Washiali said Parliament should discuss withdrawal of the soldiers as an urgent matter.
Speaking to local media Mr. Benjamin urged the opposition to table motion in the parliament for approval saying issue is realistic.
“They{opposition} raised some valid concerns but they should realize that Parliament is better placed to handle the issues,” he said.
The CORD coalition leader Raila Odinga has earlier called for immediate withdrawal of Kenyan military from southern Somalia citing increased attacks by Al Shabaab in the country in retaliation of troops presence in Somalia.
Government officials had repeatedly dismissed the opposition’s demand for withdrawing Kenya Defense forces from Somalia.
