Kenyan Universities Open Doors to Somali Students

GOOBJOOG NEWS | NAIROBI: Kenya’s Education Ministry has announced that the country’s universities will open its doors to Somali students, who hold high school diplomas accredited by the federal government of Somalia’s Education Ministry.

The agreement, which was discussed during the recently concluded Kenya-Somalia Joint Commission for Cooperation (JCC) held in Nairobi provides Somali students with a pathway to quality higher education, offering them a chance to hone their skills and contribute to their nation’s development.

The opportunity also offers Somali students a chance to emerge from the challenges that were brought about by decades of war which hindered educational progress creating a gap in the country’s labor force.
