Khaatumo Administration Bans Carrying Weapons in Las Anod

GOOBJOOG NEWS/LAS ANOD: SSC-Khaatumo Interim Administration has issued a strict ban on the carrying of weapons within the city of Las Anod.

The Interim Administration Security Committee issued the ban Thursday noting the decision was aimed at bolstering security in the restive town.

The administration warned that it would take decisive action against anyone who violates this order. In its statement, the administration issued a stern warning to military commanders, urging them to ensure that no unauthorized weapons are brought into the city unless they are intended for official operations.

The security committee also called on the residents of Las Anod to cooperate with security forces in enforcing this ban. This measure comes in response to a series of recent killings in the city, the motives for which remain unclear. In the past few months, several individuals have been killed in apparent retaliatory attacks, heightening the need for stricter security measures.

The administration’s decision aims to restore order and prevent further violence in Las Anod, as the city has been grappling with rising insecurity in recent months.
