Killer of East Africa University VC Sentenced to Death in Puntland

GOOBJOOG NEWS|BARI: A court in Bari region of Puntland has sentenced to death a man accused of killing the Vice Chancellor of East Africa.

The Court found Mohamed Abshir Muse Bootaan guilty of the murder of Dr. Khalid Ali Khalid Aw Muse who was until his death the Vice Chancellor-Finance and Administration in the East Africa University.

Bootan was found guilty of shooting dead the university don as he exited his gate to work on July 30. Another suspect, Ahmed Mahmoud Mohamed was sentenced to nine years after the court established that he aided the offence by providing the vehicle that was used to commit the murder.

Dr. Muse had served as a lecturer for a long time at the university before he was promoted to the position of Vice Chancellor.
