Kismayo Residents Stage Protests against Federal Government

Tens of thousands of Kismayo residents have come out on the streets protesting against federal government over recent anti Jubbaland vote passed in the federal parliament.

Protestors have denounced what they called “biased” and unfriendly government in Mogadishu.

They accuse of unfairly treatment towards Jubbaland State and sawing seeds of conflict between the brotherly communities in the regions.

On the other side, they supported the decision by Jubbaland to suffer ties with the federal government.

Similar protests have been staged elsewhere in the region including Dhobley and other places.

The decision by the federal parliament to suspend the regional assembly was met with controversy and led to cessation of working relationship between the two.
