Kurtunwaarey administration arrests dozens of people

The administration of Kurtunwaarey district in Lower Shabelle region stated that federal government forces and AMISOM troops have succeeded to prevent insecurity threats in the region.

Kurtunwaarey district commissioner Abdirahman Sabdow said the joint forces will continue the security crackdown meant to maintain the security of the region.

Mr. Sabdow added that dozens of people mostly youth suspected of being Al-shabab members were apprehended during the massive operations in the district.

Kurtunwaarey is among the captured areas after Indian Ocean operation Al-shabab controlled areas before couple of days.
