Laftagareen, EU Envoy Agree to Boost Cooperation in South West State
GOOBJOOG NEWS | BAIDOA: South West State President Abdiasis Hassan Mohamed (Laftagareen) met with European Union Ambassador to Somalia Francesca Di Mauro in Baidoa on Monday to discuss expanding cooperation on security and development.
Officials said the talks at the Baidoa Presidential Palace focused on EU support for social services, economic assistance and ongoing reconstruction projects across the state.
Laftagareen thanked the EU for what he described as sustained and meaningful support to communities in South West State. Ambassador Di Mauro commended the administration’s efforts to strengthen stability and improve delivery of key public services.
Both sides agreed to deepen their partnership and speed up development programmes under implementation in the region.
The president was joined in the meeting by ministers responsible for interior, planning, humanitarian affairs, women and social affairs, as well as the director-general of the presidency.
