At least 30 people die after consuming contaminated water in Baidoa, south western Somalia
More than 30 people have in the last 48 hours in Baidoa after they drank contaminated water while 20 others are in critical condition
Goobjoog News correspondent reports the deceased succumbed to what could be poisoned water in Masuubiyow about 20 kilometres from Baidoa town. The locals are reported to have fallen ill after taking water from a water pan which is the only water source in the area.
South West Finance Minister Sheikh Hassan Ibrahim and Disarmament and Rehabilitation minister Hassan Hussein Mohamed visited the village Sunday and are mobilising for the sick to be transported to hospital. Our correspondent says there are no medical facilities in the area.
