Leego administration fights illegal checkpoints in the area

Federal government forces in Leego locality have on Saturday launched massive operations to maintain security in the area.

The operation is actively going in the areas between Leego and Buur-Hakaba district in Lower Shabelle and Bay regions respectively.

Leego administrator Abdullahi Iidey said the security operations in the area is a response to complaints coming from the owners and drivers using road linking Leego and Baidoa where the passengers are subjected to harassment, rape and theft.

Mr. Iidey stated that the operations will not stop until the armed men who set illegal checkpoints in the area will be brought to book.
