Madobe Awards Medals of Honour, Promotions to State Forces for Victory Over Al-Shabaab

GOOBJOOG NEWS/KISMAYO: Jubaland President Ahmed Madobe has bestowed medals of honours and promotions to the state military commanders for their bravery during the recent fight with Al-Shabaab which resulted in the death of about 100 militants.

President Madobe awarded the medal of honour to Major General Abdi Kafi Dayib Ahmed, Commander of the Birjeh Brigade of the Jubaland Darwish Army, Major General Bashir Guhad Hassan, Commander of the Birjeh Brigade and Lieutenant Colonel Ahmed Abdi Shafeeh.

The Jubaland leader also promoted all the Birjeh Brigade of the Jubaland Dervish Army. He also lauded those who paid in the ultimate price in the fighting in Afmadow on Monday where about 100 Al-Shabaab militants were killed.

Earlier in the week, President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud also commended the joint Jubaland and Somali Nationa Army for their bravery and victory against Al-Shabaab.
