Mass rally in Support of joint offensive military held in Mogadishu

Mass rally in Support of operation Indian Ocean against Al-shabab was held in Mogadishu on Tuesday, the rally was organized by the residents of Mogadishu.

Hundreds of people from the walks filled Daljirka Dahson square in the heart of the city thrice its capacity.

The rally was attended by senior officials of Banadir region, civil society and women association in Mogadishu.

The officials thanked the people who attended the peaceful demonstration meant to encourage the efforts of Somali government forces and African Union peace keeping troops to push Al-shabab out of many strongholds.

Since operation Indian ocean was launched Al-shabab lost the control of over five areas in South and Central Somalia.

Earlier this month Al-shabab leader Ahmed Abdi Godane was killed by US air strike in Lower Shabelle region.
