Mayor Muungaab Calls for Stronger Community Mobilisation Ahead of Banaadir Polls

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Mogadishu Mayor and Banaadir Governor Hassan Mohamed Hussein (Muungaab) has directed district administrations to intensify clean-up operations, reinforce security cooperation and accelerate preparations for next month’s Banaadir Regional Council elections.

Chairing the weekly regional meeting, Mayor Muungaab said district leaders must work closely with residents to maintain the capital’s appearance and support ongoing security efforts.

He urged communities and security agencies to coordinate more closely to prevent threats to public safety during the election period.

The meeting also reviewed steps to strengthen financial transparency under the administration’s “Community Witnessed Finance” policy, which requires public oversight of government spending.

Deputy Governors, regional officials, directors and district commissioners attended the session.
