MP says she was blocked by NISA from traveling to Gedo
A lawmaker has accused the intelligence agency NISA of blocking her from travelling to her constituency in Gedo region.
Speaking in Parliament, Dalyes Hassan Adan said she was kept at the airport from 7 am until 11 am when she was informed she could not travel.
“I arrived at the airport at 7.30 am and at 11.30 am I was told by NISA I could not leave the airport,” the lawmaker said.
The development follows intense Ethiopian military movements in Gedo region with reports the Ethiopian soldiers were intimidating and arresting public officials.
The opposition coalition FNP Sunday called for the withdrawal of the Ethiopian soldiers who are serving outside the AMISOM framework.
