GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: A Somalia military court has executed in the capital, Mogadishu, three members of Al-Shabaab convicted for terror attacks that claimed several lives.

The three men, found guilty of the deaths of a total of 15 innocent people between the years 2018 and 2020, were executed by firing squad early Monday morning, the latest in a string of executions carried out by the government against members of the Al-Qaeda-East African-based militants.

Hassan Ali Moallim Barre was convicted for detonating a car bomb in Wadajir market in 2018, which killed 12 people, while Nur Ibrahim Mahad-Alle was convicted for delivering an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) that killed Mahaas deputy mayor in 2019, and Isak Keerow Adan was convicted for killing two people in Suuq Ba’ad and Weydow in 2020, using grenades.

The execution of the three comes two days after massive twin bombings tore through Mogadishu’s Zobe junction, killing more than 100 people and injuring more than 300 others.
