Missing Somali-American cleric Sheikh Mohamed Adam found dead in the US

GOOBJOOG NEWS|COL, OHIO: The missing Somali-American Imam Mohamed Hassan Adam has been found dead in Columbus, Ohio, Somali community leaders and a Muslim organisation in the town have confirmed.

The Ohio chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Ohio) and its national headquarters (CAIR) said the body of Sheikh Adam was discovered by volunteer community members who had been searching for the missing cleric.

Local media said his body was found in a van matching the one he was driving in when he went missing on December 22.

“Our entire Ohio Muslim community has suffered a profound and tragic loss. We call on law enforcement to conduct a thorough and transparent investigation into the murder of this community leader, husband, and father,” CAIR-Ohio Acting Executive Director Amina Barhumi said.

CAIR said it was offering $10,000 for information leading to the arrest of the deceased cleric.
