Across the Banadir region, cultural groups are staging performances and rehearsals in preparation for the national holiday, which marks the country’s independence on July 1.

In Hamarweyne district, the ONKOD Band is drawing large crowds with rehearsals of patriotic songs honoring Somalia’s history and resilience.

In Kaaraan, the HEEGAN Band is also energizing the community with lively shows, adding to the festive atmosphere spreading across the capital.

The week-long celebrations are expected to culminate in major national events, reflecting a growing sense of unity and national pride.
