Mogadishu Dispatches Cabinet Team to Las Anod for Regional Talks

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: A senior ministerial delegation from Somalia’s federal government has departed Mogadishu for Las Anod as part of ongoing engagement with regional administrations.

The delegation includes the minister of interior, federal affairs and reconciliation, Ali Hosh; the minister of defence, Ahmed Moallim Fiqi; and the minister of commerce and industry, Gamal Hassan, alongside other cabinet members.

Representatives from both houses of Somalia’s federal parliament are also part of the delegation, underlining the significance of the visit and the government’s emphasis on inclusive governance and reconciliation.

The talks in Las Anod are expected to focus on strengthening cooperation between the federal government and the Northeastern Regional State, addressing priority governance, security, and development issues, and reinforcing national unity and the constitutional order.

The federal government has stepped up direct engagement with regional administrations as part of broader efforts to consolidate peace, improve service delivery, and advance state-building across the country.
