GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Mogadishu’s Mayor and Banadir Governor Mohamed Ahmed Amir pledged unwavering support to Somalia’s wounded soldiers on Sunday, delivering vital medical supplies and launching infrastructure improvements at the Somali National Army Hospital.

During a visit to the medical facility, Mayor Amir met with injured troops from both the national army and community defense forces, offering words of encouragement to those who have borne the heaviest sacrifices in Somalia’s fight against insurgency.

“These brave men and women are the backbone of our nation’s security,” Amir said. “Their courage demands not only our gratitude but our ongoing commitment to their recovery and well-being.”

Hospital administrators briefed the mayor on critical shortages and operational challenges. In response, Amir promised immediate interventions, including efforts to address urgent medical needs and the rollout of a solar lighting project aimed at ensuring uninterrupted service at the hospital.

The new solar project, welcomed by hospital officials, is part of a wider push by the Banadir Regional Administration to improve conditions for wounded soldiers and bolster morale among frontline forces.

As Somalia intensifies military operations against Al-Shabaab and other militant groups, local authorities are stepping up efforts to ensure that those injured in the line of duty receive not just medical care, but sustained support in their journey to recovery.
