Mogadishu Mayor: Killer policeman will face the law

Mogadishu mayor Omar has pledged justice for two youngsters who were shot dead by a police officer Friday night in Bondhere district.

Addressing angry residents who took the streets to protest the brutal killings, Filish who also doubles as Banaadir Regional Governor said the killing was ‘painful and unacceptable’.

“The incident that took place last night in Bondere district was painful and we will not accept such brutality; the police officer who killed the innocent people has been jailed and will be prosecuted for his actions,” the mayor said.

Filish also noted the government is reviewing the restriction imposed on the city in light of COVID-19 spread.
