Mogadishu Port Joins Global Ports Association
GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: The Mogadishu Port Authority has said that the Port of Mogadishu has joined the International Association of Ports and Harbors, a global network that brings together more than 190 ports from 89 countries.
The association, founded in 1959 and headquartered in Tokyo, promotes cooperation among port authorities and supports the development of sustainable and efficient port operations.
Officials said the membership represents a key milestone for Mogadishu Port, creating new opportunities for international cooperation, the exchange of expertise and the adoption of advanced port technologies.
The port authority added that joining the organization will also support efforts to strengthen environmental protection and improve the management of marine resources.
Mogadishu Port is Somalia’s main maritime gateway and plays a central role in the country’s trade and economic activity.
