Mogadishu Residents Throng Streets to Protests Against Al-Shabaab Attack That Killed At Least 40

GOOBJOOG NEWS/MOGADISHU: Hundreds Mogadishu residents have thronged the streets this morning to protest the deadly Al-Shabaab attack on Liddo beach which claimed at least 40 lives and injured tens of others.

The residents carrying banners calling for peace and condemning Al-Shabaab matched along several city streets.

Several senior government officials also took part in the defiance protest. According to government records, at least 40 people were killed and 70 others injured in the deadly attack on Beachview Restaurant along the popular Liddo beach.

Mogadishu has not seen major protests against Al-Shabaab since the 2017 truck bombing which killed over 500 people and injured over 600 others.
