Immediate former Transport Minister Mohamed Omar (pictured) has resigned after being moved to the Labour docket citing personal reasons.

Omar said in a Facebook post that he will not be taking up the new post expressing regrets for the decision.

“While I love working for my home country, it is not possible for me at this time to do the important work assigned to me. I, therefore, apologize for taking on this important responsibility, “ said Omar. “Family and personal circumstances do not allow me to devote the energy, time and energy required for this large-scale responsibility.
Omar swapped places with his Labour colleague in a mini reshuffle on Saturday by Prime Minister Mohamed Roble.

He becomes the first minister to exit the Roble cabinet which came into being last September.
