GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Over 80% of the displaced are women and children who face serious protection risks, Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA) commissioner Mohamud Moallim has said.
Speaking during the launch of Somalia 2024 Humanitarian Needs and Response Plan (HNRP) held in Mogadishu Tuesday, Mr. Moallim said there is urgent need to protect the vulnerable and help them cope with the challenges.
“Over 80% of the displaced are women and children who face serious protection risks. We must help and improve their lives, making them more resilient,” he said.
The HNRP project is an event aimed at addressing the critical needs of the region and provides a better, more effective response plan for the future by working with local organizations to reach out to the most vulnerable.
