Former security and interior minister MP Abdisamad Moalim Mohamoud has commented on the arrest of 11 security officials, they are suspected of aiding Alshabab elements during the bombing of upscale hotel SYL in Mogadishu on 21st January, 2015.
“I don’t know much about their case, but what I know is that they did a lot for the nation, they worked with me during my tenure, they were hard working, but if they are suspected of wrong doings, there must be evidence” said the MP.
Talking too Goobjoog, je called for speedy trial and urged if there is no evidence, they should be released.
He questioned the method used by the government in ensuring the security of the country, he said the best crime fighting procedure is to take preemptive measures and stop crime before it happens.
The MP has also blamed the security forces for their inability to gather intelligence “They only act when a major incident happens” said Hon. Abdisamad.
